Dear students,

We would like to cordially invite you to attend the WORKINNOVA: Denmark-South America Workshop on Sustainable Technologies, Research and Innovation. at Federal University of Espirito Santo -Brazil, November 14-15 2012.

We are inviting especially PhD and MSc students to submit a poster contribution.

The workshop will follow immediately after OSA LATIN AMERICA OPTICS & PHOTONICS CONFERENCE (LAOP) to be held in Sao Sebastiao, Sao Paulo State and our goal is to bring leading companies as well as university research groups from South America, Denmark and elsewhere together to present, discuss and showcase newest trends and best practice within Photonic-Wireless Technologies in Communications, Sensing, and Automation.



Students are welcome to contribute to the Workshop in the form of short Research Papers to be presented as Posters. The students who present a Research Poster get complimentary admission to the Workshop (including Social events) and the opportunity to network with researchers and industry members working in Photonic-Wireless Technologies in Communications, Sensing, and Automation.



The Workshop has two Poster sessions. Poster Session A is on "Enabling Technologies” (Day 1) gathering presentation involving more fundamental photonics and wireless technologies while Poster Session B on "Applications" (Day 2) cover their use in diverse areas.

The organisation offers a certificate each of the Poster presented. Moreover, registered attendees will vote for the “Best Poster Award” for each day of WORKINNOVA.



A Research contribution to the workshop consists of two separate items:

A 1-3 page short paper as a summary of the student research results, to be included in the workshop proceedings.

A Poster, to be exhibited in the hall of the conference venue.

Any Poster contribution must have both items and must be presented in the conference in order to become eligible for a Best Poster Award. The voting will take place at the end of each Poster Session.



The paper should have no more than 3 pages in length (including footnotes). Use only the OFC template (Style guide):

Use .gif or .jpeg images at 300 dpi or less. Please submit the file in Adobe pdf format.

The poster should be maximum size: 90cm wide by 120cm tall. The presenting Authors are responsible for printing and placing their Poster on the stands.

Please indicating the Poster Session you want to participate in in the subject of the message (e.g., Day 1). Please refer to the Workshop program in order to decide the appropriate day to present your research.

Name your file with your last name.

Acceptance will be e-mailed by Nov 9. If accepted, you should get back a confirmation message with a Poster number that you should display during your presentation and on the Poster itself. The votes for best research Poster will go to Poster numbers, not to authors.
